Lucie has been singing and playing the piano throughout her life and is classically trained. She has been teaching singing for the past 10 years in private sessions, group and corporately, with ages ranging from 4 to 82 years old.
Lucie is a highly-skilled and experienced teacher. She has helped many children and adults to explore and develop their talents. Lucie has also improved overall confidence for them, whether on stage or in everyday life. Over the past ten years, some students have gone on to perform on the world stage or have been signed by recording labels and well-known agents.
Lucie has also facilitated the use of music to work with children who have come from a difficult childhood or who have faced various emotional or health challenges in their life. Gifted with also working with people on a 1-1 or in a group environment, Lucie is particularly talented in encouraging people to ‘come alive’ bringing out the best of themselves, develop new skills and show off their talents and achievements.
Lucie believes that people of any age can find their own voice. She has recently set up another business called “The Voice Within” working with companies to do “Sing at Work” performances at a specific corporate event. “The Voice Within” also helps individuals develop vocal projection and confidence for public speaking & presentations. This is achieved through the delivery of consultancy or group workshops. Lucie is also Musical Director for two Northampton based choirs.
Theresa has been involved in music for most of her life. From the age of three she attended classes in ballet and tap and was involved in regular dance shows. She also took up the piano from the age of 8 and achieved the highest examination grades.
At the age of 17 she joined The Abbey Minstrels and travelled around the county performing live shows, singing and dancing. The Minstrels performed to various audiences at venues ranging from village halls, old people’s homes and the annual highlight in the minstrel calendar at Derngate Theatre in Northampton. She was a member of this group for 27 years.
During this time, she was asked by a local children’s Music and Drama group to come along and set some movements for one of their songs. This led to her joining the group as a leader, and she went on to take over as co-producer for more than 20 years. She has produced in excess of 40 children’s shows over the years, writing material, playing the piano, setting routines and generally heading up the production team.
Following on from this, along with one of her friends and co-leaders from Mad Club, they identified a need for a musical group for young adults aged 18+. Hence, the birth of Jazz Hands Performance Group. She currently writes and produces shows for an expanding group of young people, who many have described perform to an exceptional standard.
In 2014, she joined forces with Lucie Barnes to create Glee4kidz. They combine their talents to offer fun musical sessions, singing, dancing, and creating fun sketches to perform on stage in their regular Glee4kidz Showcases.
